Vidroha Jamie St. Clair

In 1979, abandoning a promising career in acting, Jamie traveled to India to embark on an exploration of meditation and personal growth. He lived in India for 12 years and began developing his own unique guitar style and melodic compositions blended with softer jazz chords and influenced by the experience of the Eastern meditation traditions he was exploring. Jamie is currently on the board of the Osho Meditation Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to meditation and personal growth in Boulder, CO. and performs in Boulder music for meditation and satsang when he isn't recording. He will tour this summer (2004) with another new age artist, Suvarna (Etherean Records) with a concert in Boulder the end of August.

Jamie's own family roots trace back to Ireland. Yet when he describes his arrival the first time in India as having the feeling of arriving home. All the musicians playing on Indo Reel have lived in India for a time, and most also visited or lived in the UK as well. The roots of this music lie in the discipline of meditating under the guidance of a master, a distinctly Eastern phenomenon. Vidroha Jamie (guitars) Jamie 's first album with New Earth Records, Celtic Ragas, gained the recognition of Paul McCartney, who said this about the music,

"I love the blend of Indian and Celtic music. This has become one of my favorite CDs."

Since that meeting Jamie has written and recorded two albums of music, Indo Reel, and a vocal album called Infusion, which will be released on Sublime Dezine Records in Sept. 2004.
