Theresa McCoy

Theresa McCoy took her passion for music to Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Music, Performance degree at California State University, Northridge.  Though her formal training was primarily in classical percussion, she also studied Cuban drumming with master drummers Luis Conte and Jerry Steinholtz.  She is an experienced drum set drummer and hand percussionist.  Theresa pursued her career performing with symphony orchestras in the L.A. area, recording movie soundtracks, working in pit orchestras for musicals, drumming for jazz and rock bands, and studio recording for many artists in a variety of styles (jazz/rock/funk/new age/latin/etc.) TheresaMcCoy.com
 

Theresa has worked with such musical greats as Quincy Jones, Lalo Schifrin, Donna Summer, Carol Channing, Ben Vereen, Pat Moran McCoy and Bernadette Peters. She has premiered pieces for Los Angeles Philharmonic New Music America, and performed at many festivals including the Ojai Music Festival, the Idyllwild Music Festival the Britt Classical Festival and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
