Theous Jones is an inspirational artist who has earned a strong reputation as a talented drummer, respected music educator, and captivating performer. He is a graduate of North Carolina Central University receiving his BA in Music Performance.
His musical roots encompass marching percussion, jazz drumming, and
orchestral/concert percussion. From his dynamic live performances to his unwavering commitment to music education, Theous continues to inspire audiences and students alike.
Based in North Carolina, Theous regularly performs throughout the state and across the Eastern U.S. in a wide range of jazz ensembles and bands, including his own acclaimed jazz collective, DreamRoot. His work includes multiple studio recordings and notable performances at venues and festivals such as the North Carolina Museum of Art, the DC Jazz Festival, and appearances on PBS, Netflix, and Hulu.
Beyond the stage, Theous is the owner and operator of Music and Rock School based in Apex, North Carolina, where he cultivates the next generation of musicians through comprehensive, high-quality music education.
