The Wall Of Jazz is a brand new, unique, and exciting Dallas-based Jazz music ensemble that gets underway this coming Summer (2009).

The ensemble will perform both 1970s-era Jazz/Funk "cover" selections as well as its own original compositions within its repertoire.

Just a few of the 1970s Jazz/Funk pioneers that you can expect to discover The Wall Of Jazz paying homage to include; Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Pat Metheny, Lee Ritenour, Lenny White, Dr. Donald Byrd, Herbie Hancock, Roy Ayers, The Crusaders, and many more such Jazz luminaries.

If you are someone who enjoys this era of Jazz, but who has been missing hearing it for far too long and feel that your musical taste has been overlooked, don't miss this powerful ensemble that presents some of the finest musical talent, not only in the DFW Metroplex, but also some of the finest talent in the world.

The ensemble's future includes both recording and performance projects that will involve international travel as well.

As an extensive alternate roster is maintained for this musical group, Dallas area Jazz musicians and Jazz vocalists are encouraged to contact us and register their complete information for possible inclusion in upcoming performances.

"We all have favorite songs and music eras that are most dear to our hearts, minds, and spirits. And, in respect to your own favorite songs, regardless of their genre, it is likely you can recall exactly what you were doing when that favorite song invaded your psyche. In many (if not most) instances, these favorites are introduced to us during our formative teen years, largely, establishing our musical choices and tastes for our entire lives.

My personal favorite genre has always been Jazz, mainly, because I suppose that Jazz is one of the few genres that is truly free in its nature as music should be and knows no boundaries, compared to most forms of commercial genres. If given an innate opportunity, Jazz can take you to levels of ascension such as you have never experienced.

My favorite era was that of 1970s Jazz/Funk, whereby, I first learned to compose music 'old school' style (pen and paper) at age 17. As a musician, I was 'locked in' to both the literal and proverbial powers of the 7th, 9th, and even inverted 11th chords that, with a single intentionally displaced note in a given traditional chord, could unsettle one's soul through bringing uncontrollable laughter, joy, tears, or pain and, in certain instances, all of these emotions simultaneously.
