The Beatroot Road

The Beatroot Road is a brand new project with new releases every 6 weeks starting October 2024.

It’s a varied collection of international and intercultural songs with half a century of history, conceived during lockdown in a recording studio in the forest on a mountain near Vancouver BC.  All have Beats at the core, but show deliberate disrespect to genres and conventions wherever possible. We use the wrong instruments in the wrong styles with the right intentions. We got tired of the same old same old.

​This music, at its heart, is heavily processed recorded performances of music for dancing by human musicians.

​The artists have roots in Austria, Canada, China,  Kenya, Korea, Moldova, Nigeria, Punjabi, Türkiye, UK, USA, and Venezuela. So far.

We make original sounding music because it’s what we do, and it's what we’ve always done.  We hope you like it.
