Biography

Celebrated for her charismatic stage presence, exceptional talent, and her unique mark as a leading female guitar player paving new ways for Latino women in music, Sofi Nava is a "Best of Beaverton 2024" honoree, "Beaverton Youth Arts Award" recipient, and "Leading Ladies of Entertainment" mentee by the Latin Grammys. She was also recently profiled for The Oregonian and included in the top 20 most inspiring Oregonians of 2025. She was also named an “Everyday Hero” by Katu 2 ABC for impactful contributions in performing arts as a successful Latino story. Alongside her band, she uses her instruments to introduce others to Latin music, share her own stories, and celebrate her Venezuelan roots.

Sofi Nava, both solo or in a band format, uses the stage to explore multiple styles with a big emphasis on improvisation and original compositions: with influences in Latin pop and rock to salsa and Latin jazz, Sofi is known for making audiences move to the beat and leave with a profound appreciation for the diverse beauty of live contemporary music with a fresh and juvenile performance.

Sofi Nava and her band have performed at important venues around the PNW including the Patricia Reser’s Center for the Arts and the Walters Cultural Arts Center, and are in the process of developing her debut album. Sofia holds an Associates Degree from Portland Community College, and pursues a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance and Hispanic Studies at Lewis and Clark College.
