Selma Pinton

Since her debut EP A Lifetime (2018), vocalist and composer Selma Pinton (SE/IT) has established herself as one of the most distinctive voices on the Swedish jazz scene. With a strong focus on storytelling, a soulful vocal sound, and a uncompromising artistic vision, she creates music that feels intimate, immediate, and nourishing. Pinton has composed music for quartets, big bands, and string quartets, and has performed and worked across a wide range of musical settings. In 2025, she wrote the commissioned work The Year I–IV (Seasons of Changes), a suite for voice, piano, and string quartet, commissioned by Scenkonst Sörmland. Her second full-length album, Time Goes Too Slow (2021), was followed by the EP Counting Stars (2024), featuring her compositions in a duo setting with pianist Max Agnas.
