Patricia Lowe

”As a little girl I remember going to some London Clubs with my mother to listen to my Uncle Johnny playing saxophone with his jazz band. It was fantastic. The groove of the music stayed with me long after I had gone to bed at the end of the evening! I also recall watching on television singers like Cleo Laine, Cilla Black, Shirley Bassey, Dionne Warwick and thinking how do they what they do, with such ease but with vigor at the same time...” - Patricia

Patricia was born and raised in England where her parents had moved to from Barbados just before her birth.

In 1993 Patricia moved to Italy where she met pianist Paolo Serazzi, with whom she started her singing career. At the beginning it was just for fun but later she took it more seriously when she realised that she had a special gift to share. Since then she has studied music with some distinguished singers/teachers from both Italy and the UK including the famous jazz singer Norma Winstone.

Patricia has recorded and worked with various artists on albums, film soundtracks, radio (RAI) shows and theatre plays. In 2001, she had the opportunity to double-up voices on a recording with Carmel, the British pop singer, who gave her special inspiration. Two years ago she was featured in the BBC 2 television programme Get a New Life.

Patricia's first album Finally, recorded with her own group, is made-up of nine songs of which eight are originals composed by Paolo Serazzi, whilst the lyrics following nothing but Patricia's personal inspiration, often with a little irony. The ninth song is by Prince, “When Doves Cry,” that has been acoustically re-arranged.

To each piece Patricia's mellow voice adds genuine warmth and relax, which often shows that she is a great listener to singers such as Cassandra Wilson, Nina Simone, Dianne Reeves, Diana Krall and other greats alike.

Patricia's exhibition on tour comes with a group of extremely talented Italian musicians: Paolo Serazzi on piano, Hammond organ, vocals; Stefano Risso on double bass; Federico Ariano at the drums; Max Carletti on electric and acoustic guitar; Luca Biggio on the tenor & soprano saxophone, percussions.
