Nugara Trio

Nugara Trio is a young jazz trio composed of the musicians who won scholarships at Nuoro
Jazz 2021, one of the most prestigious and renowned jazz seminars in Italy, founded by Paolo
Fresu. The Trio represents one of the strongest talents in Italian jazz and has just released
their debut album, "Point of Convergency," featuring the participation of the violinist Anais
Drago, recognized as the top jazz talent in Italy for 2022. They received praise from industry
giants such as Paolo Fresu, Dado Moroni, Stefano Bagnoli, Paolino dalla Porta, and winning
prestigious awards like the “Bettinardi Prize” and the "Nuove Produzioni Discografiche
2023" grant from Nuovo Imaie. Despite their relatively short time in the industry, they have
made a significant impact on the jazz scene with performances at renowned clubs like Torino
Jazz Club, Count Basie Jazz Club in Genoa, Milestone Jazz Club in Piacenza, as well as
internationally acclaimed jazz festivals such as Nuoro Jazz Festival, Insulae Lab Production
Center in Berchidda, and Mutamenti Festival. In January 2023, they embarked on their first
international tour, performing in five dates across the Netherlands and Belgium. Each of the
three musicians brings their own musical and cultural baggage to the album. Like the vertices
of a triangle converging at a central point, the three musicians have infused their
compositions with some of their major musical infuences: from classical and romantic music
to folk and world music, pop, progressive rock, and finally jazz, which, with its ability to
absorb inspirations and return them with a new face, completes the circle.
