NOA KAHN

Noa Kahn is a drummer and an arranger based in LA, California.

She started playing the piano at the age of 6, but 6 years later she decided to pursue her true passion, and began learning drums. 

Noa served in the military band for two years, after which she received a scholarship for Rimon School of Music in Israel.

During her time in Rimon, she studied at the Rimon Jazz Institute Program. As a part of this program, she performed with Julian Lage along with the Jazz Institute in 2018.

She performed in Europe, as well as having played with different artists across Israel. She has been working as a session drummer in recording studios since 2017.

In 2019 she received a full tuition scholarship for Berklee College of Music from Beracha Foundation, Rimon and Berklee.  

During her time at Berklee, Noa recorded a live video with Zakir Hussain and the Berklee Indian Ensemble ("Lady L"). Grammy nomination-

"Lady L" was later released as a part of the Berklee Indian Ensemble Album "Shuruaat", that was chosen to be nominated for the Grammy awards of 2023, for Best Global Music Album.

Noa toured with “Couch the Band” across the east coast and studied with artists such as Dave DiCenso, Mark Walker, James Murphy and Alain Mallet. 

She also received the Percussion Department Chair Award in the spring of 2022.Noa graduated with a B.A. in Music Performance.Noa also toured with "Jax" (Jackie Miskanic).

Nowadays, Noa performs with different ensembles around the the west coast and works as a session drummer. 

 

 

Awards

Grammy nominated for the 2023 Grammy Awards under the category of "Best Global Album" for the album Shuruaat, by the Berklee Indian Ensemble. Noa played drums on the track "Lady L"
