Nabi Cabestany

Born in Barcelona, Nabi Cabestany began his musical training at the Escolania de Montserrat. He graduated from the University of the Arts in Berlin, where he studied under Professor Wolfgang Boettcher. He then joined the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he received a Diploma of Higher Education and Performance. He obtained the prestigious Artist Diploma from Indiana University, studying cello with Janos Starker and chamber music with Menahem Pressler. He was awarded the Prize of Honor at the International Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona.

Nabi Cabestany is active in various domains and styles. He regularly performs chamber music repertoire, leading him to give concerts in Europe, Japan, and the United States, alongside musicians such as James Campbell, Renaud Capuçon, Maxim Rysanov, and Christian Zacharias.

As a passionate lover of Baroque music, Nabi is a founding member of "Barcelone Barroc," an ensemble specializing in early music with variable instrumentation. He has appeared with his Baroque cello in festivals in the United States, Portugal, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Costa Rica.

As an orchestral musician, Nabi has collaborated with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (Munich) and the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), performing under the baton of Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Claudio Abbado, and others. He is currently on leave from the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, where he was a soloist and co-soloist for 12 years. Since 2015, Nabi has been the principal cellist of the Chamber Orchestra of Toulouse.
