Billy Harris

Bill Harris is a drummer, composer, improviser, and audio engineer from Pittsburgh currently located in Chicago. Starting private drum and percussion studies at age eight, Bill embarked on a lifelong journey of musical education that continues to this day. Playing in various rock, funk, and jazz groups at clubs and concert venues throughout his early years, he eventually relocated to Chicago. In 2014, he started the trio Four Letter Words, with pianist Matt Piet and saxophonist Jake Wark, who play primarily original compositions centered around group improvisation. In 2014, they release their first EP, Blow. He is also a member of the group Bowlcut with guitarist Matt Murphy and saxophonist Jake Wark, who explore free improvisation while combining electronic and acoustic sounds. Bill also works as an audio engineer in the Chicago area.
