Dee Ramey

ABOUT DEE RAMEY: Dee Ramey, jazz drummer and songwriter, has definite roots in jazz as she is related to legendary bassist/entrepreneur Charles Turner and saxophonist Danny Turner, a long-standing member of the Count Basie Orchestra. Ms. Ramey graduated from CUNY with a degree in Music & Entertainment Business, and is a graduate of the renowned High School of Music & Art. Most recently Dee performed with the Int'l Women In Jazz Festival, Harlem Renaissance Jazz, Film & Art, the IRADAC Black History Month Celebration, ING NYC Marathon in Harlem, and the Int'l African Arts Festival Women in Jazz. Also, Dee is former producer and on-air personality of the I Love Jazz! radio show broadcast on WHCR (Harlem Community Radio) where she launched a marketing campaign that promoted public awareness and appreciation of jazz culture to a worldwide listenership. Most notably, Dee and her radio show were spotlighted in the Congressional Record citation presented by the Hon. Congressman Charles B. Rangel to WHCR commemorating 25 years of outstanding community service. Ms. Ramey's promotional theme song I Love Jazz!, which uniquely brands the jazz fan experience, is gaining popularity with its message of jazz pride, collective involvement and support of the arts.
