Joachim Des Ormeaux is a poet, story-teller, jazz artist with a shamanic charisma, who give a distinctive tone in the large galaxy of jazz. The artist shaped by soul and funk music, and also by the caribbean traditional rhythms of his origins, conveys an elaborate universe, a mysterious and mystical world tinged with accepted nostalgia and resolute hope... Creole give all the extension of speech to the lyrics using a style full of poetic and metaphorical imagery... Always sharp, sometimes funny, with a pinch of teasing. His non standard voice, like a gwol escaping from a saxophoneholds his whole history in its bass texture. But above all, his voice offers a tremendous frame to his melodies, chants and committed music. His music settles down like a float, exquisitely noticeable but still fascinating... Words flutter about you and come back to your memory even after listening.

The first work of an artist is frequently autobiographical... This is how, through the kaleidoscope of his first album, the artist confesses a few secrets as fundamental encounters of his life, personal history and feelings, suggesting a beautiful range of colours and flavours throughout his compositions. Here and there, touches of bossa nova, traditional caribbean drums, and even Prevert (French poet and singer)... All of it placed with finesse by his poetry.
