Matt Wong

Fourteen year old guitarist and songwriter Matt Wong discovered his passion for the guitar at age six and has been playing ever since. His genre? Classical, Jazz, and a bit of rock. An aspiring performer, Matt has played at venues and events throughout New Jersey including The Bog Restaurant in West Windsor, NJ, Small World Coffee in Princeton, NJ and the Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes fundraiser sponsored by Novo Nordisk in Princeton, NJ with Rebop, a Jazz group comprised of high school students. Inspired by music greats such as Tommy Emmanuel, and Joe Robinson, and the Beatles, Matt is already on his way to becoming a prolific songwriter, often incorporating a finger picking technique with alternating and walking bass lines found in jazz and blues music. Six of his original compositions are featured on Matt's debut album, Fly me to the Moon. In addition to his originals, the album also includes arrangements of popular songs such as "Fly me to the Moon" by Bart Howard and "The Entertainer" by Scott Joplin. The CD release was on October 20, 2011.
