M. Kyle Rowland

Kyle Rowland (B. Ann Arbor, MI 1984) is an active performer, composer, and educator who works across a diverse spectrum of musical situations. As a drummer and percussionist Kyle has performed with Vic Juris, Wessell Warmdaddy Anderson, Tony Monaco, Kate Baker, Radam Schwartz, James Weidman, and Quentin Angus. He has also composed music for live experimental theatre and television.

In 2007 Kyle composed pieces for solo percussion which were adapted as the score for The Garage Theatre Groups production of Chay Yew's Porcelain. His television credits include pieces composed for DJTR Media and Prodcutions. In the Fall of 2011 he began writing for StoneStreet Screen Acting Studios, headed by Alyssa Rallo Bennett & Gary O. Bennett. His work is now featured on their series Behind The Scenes and The 47th Floor.

As an educator he has taught clinics throughout the Midwest and tri-state area. He currently holds a BA from William Paterson University and will complete his MA in music from SUNY Purchase College in the Spring of 2012. He currently teaches in the New York & New Jersey areas.

Kyle has performed at the The Montreux Jazz Festival, The North Sea Jazz Festival, and various performances throughout France and the Netherlands. In 2011 he was awarded full scholarship to participate in the Keep An Eye Summer Jazz Workshop, which was co-hosted by The Manhattan School of Music and The Amsterdam Conservatory.
