Kevin Brunkhorst
Digital/Spritual is a duet project for with fellow UNT alum and StFX faculty member Paul Tynan, who plays trumpet, flugelhorn, and pocket trumpet. It's partly composed and partly constructed from improvisations. References and influences are far-ranging and include Kenny Wheeler, Brian Eno, David Torn, Ralph Towner, film scores, and Teo Macero's productions of Miles. There's an emphasis on melody and rich harmony. There is also a variety of textures, especially on the trip-hop/electronic 'How Spacemen Lose Weight'.
