With a distinctive sound that is soulful, intimate and expressive, Lucas is building a reputation as a part of a jazz tradition -- the male balladeer -- a tradition that cries out for new blood. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, LUCAS began honing his musical sensibilities at an early age, under the influence of his family; his adolescent listening experiences ran the gamut -- from Motown to Mozart to Miles to Mangeshkar. (And all the hotspots in-between) After majoring in Theatre Arts at the University of Georgia, Lucas moved to New York City, where he has lived, and worked as a singer/actor/director for more than a decade and a half in films, television, and numerous NY/International theatrical productions. Performing in a variety of nightclub/cabaret settings, Lucas has been nominated for Manhattan Cabaret/MAC Award as Best Jazz Vocalist. Over the past decade, Lucas has lived between New York City and Seoul, South Korea, touring in numerous theater and concert productions. He was twice awarded the Seoul-Sounds Award for Best Jazz Vocalist
