Alicia Lindberg
Alicia Lindberg is a Swedish singer, composer, and producer based in New York whose musical voice stands out as a unique blend of improvised music and contemporary pop music. Under her alias Linda 917, she mixes conventions of Scandinavian pop music, experimental music, and jazz and tells very personal stories through alluring poetic distortions.
Alicia Lindberg entered the Scandinavian jazz scene with her debut album Before You Go in 2022, voted one of that year’s top 10 albums by the Swedish jazz magazine OrkesterJournalen, describing it as “a unique, modern approach to the vocal tradition.” With this, Lindberg established herself as a young, innovative composer to watch in her generation. Since her debut, Lindberg has released the singles END and Rabbit Hole, featuring renowned Swedish jazz performers Sven Erik Lundeqvist on piano, Simon Petersson on double bass, and Zoltan Csörsz on drums. These singles heralded her musical evolution as she moved toward a more experimental and unconventional sonic landscape.
After moving to New York City in 2023, Alicia Lindberg has continued to carve out a musical space entirely her own. With her group LINDA 917, she explores a sonic playground where her roles as composer, producer, and performer collide in unexpected ways. LINDA 917's upcoming album ONLINE, slated for release September 18th, 2026, is a self-produced and self-engineered body of entirely original work. It is a distinctly feminine voice pushing against two male-dominated spheres of the music industry: production and jazz performance. Throughout the album’s thirteen tracks, Lindberg confronts topics often unspoken of in the experimental scene, such as eating disorders, body image, and mental health.
With ONLINE, Lindberg begins to shape her own musical dialect, a kind of microgenre that redefines the limits of the contemporary jazz landscape and underground pop music. It’s a declaration of artistic independence and a signal that Alicia Lindberg is emerging as a distinctive voice on the global scene.

Having heard most of the material live, the album presents a fresh perspective, showcasing the rich sound that the accompanying musicians provide for the pitch-perfect vocalist, achieved seamlessly." - Okresterjournalen 2022
"Scat singing, a form she incorporates into her performances, seems to be her way of delving into jazz, emotions, and experience. It’s a unique, modern approach to the vocal tradition. I’m particularly captivated by Lindberg’s wordless singing." - Lira 2022
