Rin Nagaya

123 is an award-winning artist, producer, dancer, and DJ, originally from Japan and now making waves in Los Angeles. Drawing inspiration from hip-hop, soul, and traditional Japanese music, she has crafted a unique and captivating sound that blends groove, culture, and innovation.

Her creative journey began at just 4 years old, growing up in Iwate, Japan. Despite coming from a non-musician family, her passion for hip-hop dance took hold early, deeply immersing her in hip-hop culture throughout her childhood. In 2021, she earned a scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where she honed her skills in singing and music production. During her third year, her original song, "Forgotten People," won the grand prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and other international competitions, solidifying her place as a rising talent.

Beyond music, 123's prowess as a hip-hop dancer led to impressive accomplishments, including performing as a backup dancer for Usher in 2023. Her deep connection to both music and dance opened doors for her to compose music for dance companies in New York City and Philadelphia. She toured the East Coast with contemporary dance company Yu.S.Artistry as their official composer and opening act, and collaborated with Eurovision choreographers, producing original music for their dance breaks.
