Yifei Xue is a producer, sound designer, and audio engineer whose work bridges the technical precision of engineering with the emotional depth of musical storytelling. A graduate of Berklee College of Music with dual majors in Electronic Production & Design and Music Production & Engineering, Yifei crafts soundscapes that move fluidly between electronic, ambient, pop, R&B, and orchestral worlds.
With experience spanning from award-winning live performances to immersive installation art, Yifei’s portfolio includes composing and producing the score and sound design for the acclaimed live installation Self-Doubt, engineering a winning NPR Tiny Desk Contest performance, and creating immersive audio for the 2019 Aichi Triennale in Japan. His skills extend from in-the-box composition to hybrid and fully analog workflows, underpinned by a deep command of Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Wwise, as well as an expanding toolkit in Unreal Engine, Blender, and Python.
Known for an uncompromising commitment to excellence, Yifei approaches every project with both artistry and rigor—whether mixing a live band for optimal translation, fine-tuning a studio’s signal flow, or designing a sonic environment that invites deep emotional connection. Bilingual in Chinese and English, and equally at home in creative and technical spheres, Yifei thrives at the intersection of music, technology, and human emotion, always pursuing work that is both sonically innovative and deeply resonant.
