Loris Donatelli
Guitarist, Composer, and Educator

Born in Pescara, Loris Donatelli boasts an exceptional academic background, having studied electric guitar at the University of Music in Rome, where he honed his skills with some of Italy’s finest guitarists. He also attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music jazz program, further solidifying his technical and theoretical foundation.

He graduated with top honors (summa cum laude) in both First Level and Second Level Jazz Guitar degrees from the Conservatory of Pescara. His passion for learning and deepening his knowledge led him to attend numerous masterclasses, including one with the legendary guitarist Joe Diorio, and to earn a Second Level Master’s Degree in Jazz Ensemble Teaching Methodology from Roma Tre University. He is currently completing a First Level Master’s Degree in Music Analysis and Theory at the University of Calabria (UNICAL).

Loris Donatelli has a rich and diverse artistic career. He has appeared on national television programs (RAI) and performed in nationally significant concerts, collaborating with internationally renowned artists such as guitarist Stef Burns. His live performances are characterized by profound musical sensitivity, allowing him to navigate seamlessly from classic jazz to more modern sounds.

A passionate jazz enthusiast, Loris draws inspiration from great masters like Joe PassBill Frisell, and John Scofield, while developing a personal and recognizable style. He is currently working on his first solo album, an ambitious project in which he is the sole performer, incorporating loops and acoustic guitar. The album explores a repertoire ranging from classic jazz to more experimental compositions, with influences that touch on the sonorities of Olivier Messiaen, showcasing his constant and innovative artistic research.

In addition to his performing career, Loris is a passionate and dedicated educator. He teaches electric guitar at the Civic School of Music and Theater in Montesilvano (PE) and the Angolana Music Academy in Città Sant’Angelo (PE), contributing to the training of new generations of musicians.

His mission is clear: to spread music in all its forms, promoting jazz culture and music education as tools for artistic and personal growth. With his talent, dedication, and commitment, Loris Donatelli stands out as one of the most interesting and authoritative voices in the Italian jazz scene.
