André Repizo
Pianist, Master in Music from the Unesp Institute of Arts, with research in Brazilian urban popular music from the beginning of the 20th century, more specifically in the interpretation of choro on the piano. He has a Bachelor's degree in Music - specialization in Piano from the Unesp Arts Institute (2013), graduated from the Dramatic Musical Conservatory Dr. Carlos Campos de Tatuí in the Classical Piano Course (2009) and from Emesp in the Popular Piano Course (2014). In 2010, he participated in the “Profissional da Música” project at CLAM (Centro Livre de Aprendizagem Musical) under the guidance of Amilton Godoy (Zimbo Trio). He worked as a pianist for the Tom Jobim Youth Orchestra (2011) and the São Paulo State Youth Symphonic Band (2010). During this journey of learning the piano, he had the opportunity to perform with Jazz Sinfônica de São Paulo and alongside renowned musicians, such as Andreas Kisser, Elba Ramalho, Zeca Baleiro, Toninho Ferragutti, Daniel de Alcântara, Rex Richardson (USA) and Tanya Darby (USA). Among his awards, in 2020 his video “Fragmentos do Cotidiano” received the “Funarte RespirArte Award”. He won the Piano São Paulo Prize 2020, 2021 and 2022 and was the winner of the Efestival instrumental 2022. He has been teaching music since 2004. He was a co-repeater pianist at the Baccarelli Institute (2013-2019), popular piano teacher at the 11th Ponta Grossa Music Festival (2019), taught choral singing workshop at Sesc Ipiranga (2020 and 2022) , among other experiences. On the musical theater circuit he was keyboardist and conductor of Queen Celebration in Concert (northeast Brazilian tour -2021), pianist in the show Grease, The Musical (1st season 2022 and 2nd season 2023) and pianist in the production of Guarda Costas, The Musical (2023 ). He is currently a member of Freedom Big Band and André Repizo Trio, where he works as a composer. He recorded his first solo project in 2019, the album Todas Dessa Suas, with which he was listed on the list of the best instrumentalists of 2019 by the website Embrulhador (curated by Ed Felix). The compositions on this album were freely inspired by the poems of Carlos Drummond de Andrade.
