Anastasia Lyutova

Born in 1995, she graduated from the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow. Her singing style is inspired by Anita O’Day, Mel Torme, Jon Hendricks, Ella Fitzgerald and many other great American singers.

In 2016, Anastasia established her own quintet with famous Russian musicians: Roman Sokolov (tenor saxophone), Alexey Podymkin (piano), Vladimir Koltsov-Krutov (bass), Alexey Bekker (drums). Presented in English as “Anastasia Lyutova & The Band”, it is in fact named in Russian with a term craftily derived from her last name: Lyuty Band, which is something like “brave, fierce and violent”.

In 2018, she performed in the International Jazz Day campaign in Saint-Petersburg and took part in Igor Butman’s International festival “The Future Of Jazz”. Also, Anastasia started her collaboration with The Oleg Lundstrem Jazz Orchestra, the eldest running jazz big band in the world..

Stylistically, Anastasia and her band gives preference to the jazz mainstream. The band is well known in Russia for its special programs devoted to the music of George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim and other composers of the so-called “Great American Songbook” in new original arrangements.

In 2018, Anastasia Lyutova and the band recorded their first album “Some Like It Jazz”; it was released by the famous jazz label, Venus Records - no less than in Japan despite it’s number 1 in the artist’s discography.
