EMILIO D. MILER

Grammy® and Latin Grammy® winning producer, composer and arranger, also nominated for a Hollywood Music in Media Award; his recent productions have featured John Patitucci, Airto Moreira, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Bruna Black, PUBLIQuartet, Danaë Vlasse, Hila Plitmann, Matt and Gregg Bissonette, Antonio Sánchez, Magos Herrera, Chano Domínguez, Camille Bertault, Christian McBride and Billy Martin, among many others.

Emilio D. Miler is a producer, composer and arranger.

He won a Latin Grammy for his production work on "Los Animales" by Mister G, was nominated to a Hollywood Music in Media Award for his original soundtrack to the documentary feature "H.O.P.E. Was Here”, produced “Sorte!,” nominated to the 62nd. GRAMMY® Awards in Best Latin Jazz Album, and co-produced the Grammy® winning Classical Vocal Album “Mythologies” by Danaë Xanthe Vlasse, alongside the composer. Emilio also took part in Björk's "Biophilia" tour, conducting workshops for children in music, science, and technology.

Miler has been a guest lecturer at Berklee Valencia, Abbey Road Institute (Paris), Stanford University, Icesi University in Cali, CES University in Medellín, Del Norte University in Barranquilla, El Bosque, Los Andes and Javeriana Universities in Bogotá (Colombia), and Universidad San Francisco Quito (Ecuador) as well as conducting workshops and lectures at other institutions and events, such as Barranquilla’s International Carnival of the Arts, Studio Ensamble Academy and Búho Negro Studio in Medellín, Árbol Naranja Productions in Bogotá (Colombia), Dante Cultural Center in Mérida (México), Nempla SchoolOf Music and Romaphonic Studio (Argentina).

2017 saw the release of two albums co-produced by Miler: NY-based Italian singer Laura Campisi's "DoubleMirror" (featuring Zack Brock, Greg Hutchinson, Ameen Saleem and Vincent Herring, among others), and Mister G's latest "Mundo Verde/Green World” (which featured the song “Gozar,” co-produced and arranged by Miler, and recorded in Santo Domingo with members of Juan Luis Guerra’s legendary band “La 440”).

In 2018, he produced “Sorte!," the first collaboration between Latin Grammy nominated composer John Finbury and singer/lyricist Thalma de Freitas (also featuring Duduka Da Fonseca, John Patitucci and Airto Moreira, among others), recorded at The Powerstation at Berklee NYC, “Dula” for Houston-based Angolan singer Vivalda Dula (recorded in over a dozen cities in four continents), two singles for Colombian folkloric duo Folkloreta (one of which reached #16 in the Colombian National Radio charts), and co-produced NOS, by Venezuelan-American group New Caracas.

In 2019,“Sorte!” was released and nominated for Best Latin Jazz Album in the 62nd. Grammy® Awards, and he also produced singles for Vietnamese Dan Tranh virtuoso Tri Nguyen and Colombian Pop singer Dani Vasco.

2020 saw the release of “Quatro,” a new Latin Jazz album with music by John Finbury, featuring Magos Herrera, Chano Domínguez, John Patitucci and Antonio Sánchez; “American Nocturnes,” another album with “Chamber Jazz” compositions by John Finbury, and “Drive,” an instrumental rock single for Colombian guitarist Dan Lopz, featuring brothers Matt and Gregg Bissonette,

2021 was the year for “Mythologies,” by composer Danaë Xanthe Vlasse (produced by Miler & Vlasse), two singles by composer John Finbury featuring French singer Camille Bertault (which also feature Billy Martin from MMW, Christian McBride, and Larry Goldings), and “Ring The Bells,” a new song by John Finbury and Thalma de Freitas.

Miler reached new milestone on April 3, 2022, when “Mythologies” was awarded a Grammy® as Best Classical Solo Vocal Album.
Also released in 2022, three singles from a new project featuring music by John Finbury recorded in São Paulo, Brazil, featuring Brazilian masters Mestrinho, Cainã Cavalcante, Michael Pipoquinha and Celso De Almeida.

Later that year, Miler and Finbury went back to The Powerstation, to produce more music featuring Magos Herrera with different instrumental ensembles: “That Was Then,” features Magos’ vocals accompanied by a trio of Harp, Bandoneón, and Cello, “¡Por Ennio!,” featuring PUBLIQuartet, and “Bastille Day”, featuring an outstanding performance by pianist Dan Tepfer.

In 2023, Emilio produced sessions in Los Angeles, Austin, New York, London and Buenos Aires for Ms. Vlasse’s follow-up album, “Mythologies 2” (the highlight being sessions at Abbey Road with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), in Madrid for Valencia-based guitarist Sergio Pereira, New York for John Finbury’s new album of Brazilian Jazz featuring singer Bruna Black, and a new single for Syrian-American singer Nano Raïes.

2024 welcomed the release of Pereira’s “Verão Boreal” (Feb), Bruna Black & John Finbury’s “Vã Revelação” (May), Danaë Vlasse’s “Mythologies 2” (July) and Nano Raïes’ “Oh Ma
Demeure” (Aug). December brought the news of a new Grammy nomination, this time for Mythologies 2 in Best Classical Compendium.
