Mikkel Jakobsen

The danish piano player Mikkel Jakobsen went in 1998 to study at the Royal Conservatory in Den Haag, Netherlands. After taking lessons with Nikolaj Bentzon and Jørgen Emborg in Denmark, the young talent was encouraged to go study abroad. Mikkel Jakobsen works now as a professional musician and has through the years played with a large variety of musicians: Michael Brecker, Ronald Douglas, Manolo Cabras, Uli Glaszmann, Flin van Hemmen, Cristof May, Cyrille Oswald, Gulli Gudmundsson a.o. In 2001 he participated in The Dutch Jazz Competition with his trio by that time. The trio was with Klemens Marktl on drums and Mark Dermuth on bass. Participated in North Sea Jazz Festival 2003.
