Mark Quint

This unique and new recording features 10 handpicked musicians playing with Mark Quint. Each song on this new release has it's own flavor and mood. Reminiscent of the style of Antonio Carlos Jobim, yet somehow quite unique to Mr. Quint's own taste and sophistication. This album settles easily into the likes of Diana Krall, Norah Jones or Chet Baker. Mark has a classic vocal style, his temper is cool and jet setting, and his lyrics flow from soft to full bravado seamlessly on all of these original songs. Mark Quint began composing at the age of 11. It was in his nature to see and feel music in everything he did. Some would say that he is a savant in his abilities, for he has had no professional training. But you would never know it by the sound of his music. Mark's career has spanned far and wide and he has worked with some big hitters in the industry of entertainment. Mark spent many years refining and developing his sound in Los Angeles, California. It was there that he was able to explore himself, and it was there that his sound would emerge. Staying true to his vision of independence in the industry, he recorded his own music under his own production. All the while under the watch of major labels he sparked interest from Atlantic Records, several publishing companies, and film directors. His original music has been featured in theater and film. He has landed national radio commercials and performed and studied with Kurt Elling, Jon Hendricks, Kevin Mahogany, Mark Murphy, Kenny Drew Jr., Ernestine Anderson, also Hans Teuber(Ani di Franco), Marco de Carvalho, Darin Clendenin, John Fedchock, Andrienne Wilson, Lori Goldston, Chuck Bergeron, Jon Mayer, Lucas Robatto, Daniel Carvalho, Paul Richmond (of the Manhattans), Ali Jackson(Dee Dee Bridgewater's drummer) and David Palmer (Rod Stewart's drummer).

Teaming up with master Brazilian guitarist Marco de Carvalho , Mark fine crafted his sound and it all came together beautifully on his newest release 'the principle of uncertainty'.

After a couple of years of performing in Chicago, Mark now performs on the west coast covering Vancouver to LA with a brilliant cast of musicians. Many of them are featured on the new album 'the principle of uncertainty'. It took a long search to find a label sophisticated enough for this project and Mark chose OA2 Records as his home. Here Mark is joined by over fifty other artist that make up the Origin Arts family.

And with the support of OA2 Records founder John Bishop, Mark has broken away from the mainstream to produce this project on his own. He is a classic songwriter with a timeless sound. His vocals are smooth and inviting. He takes elements of Jazz, Brazilian influences, Soul and even R&B to craft his own style. He ventures away from just singing standards and composes his own songs for this new release.
