Laura Angyal
Hungarian born-New York based vocalist, composer and lyricist Laura Angyal brings a smoky, buttery timbre while incorporating a fearless approach to melodic improvisation.
Her compositions and improvisations are imbued with visual and evocative quality that creates images, textures and impressions with words and music.
She has performed in such major venues as The Carnegie Hall, Smalls Jazz Club, Smoke, Minton’s, Cornelia Street Café, The Bar Next Door, Bitter End, Cleopatra’s Needle, Garage Jazz Club, Jules Bistro, Shapeshifter Lab, Joe’s Pub, Zinc Bar, Chris’Jazz Cafe among others and in Hungary in the “Valley of Arts”, Budapest Jazz Club, EST Café.
As a journalist Ms. Angyal has contributed reviews to Jazzma and Dining Guide Hungary.
She holds a performance degree at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music.
Currently she is performing in NYC area and preparing for the release of her debut album with her own trio.
