Lasse Lundstrom

LASSE LUNDSTROM (born 1955) has been called "...one of the swinginest bassists in Europe..." by Swedish jazz magazine Orkesterjournalen, and his near-legendary status is well deserved. Few of his colleagues can match his wealth of experience, having played, toured and/or recorded with spelat med Chet Baker, Clark Terry, Johnny Griffin, Mel Lewis, James Moody, Harry ”Sweets” Edison, Monica Zetterlund, Olle Adolfsson, Putte Wickman, Arne Domnerus, Gunnar Bergsten, Cornelis Wreeswijk and others. Lundström was awarded the prestigious Christer Boustedt stipendium in 2000, and he pulled off a three bass hit by appearing on three of Orkesterjournalen's Gold Records (chosen annually by a readers' poll as jazz record of the year) in 1986, 1987, and again in 2008.
