Kevin Raczka

Kevin Raczka was born on October 30th, 1978 in Buffalo NY into a musical family. Playing the Clarinet for years before concentrating on drums, Kevin found inspiration listening to the music of Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, Mozart, Saint-Saens, Public Enemy, Run DMC, The Jungle Brothers, and Fela Kuti. Moving downstate to attend SUNY Purchase college in 1999, Kevin continued to cultivate his craft while studying with musical masters including John Riley, Richie Morales and Kim Plainfield. Since then, he has performed and recorded with a multitude of musicians In NYC and has toured throughout the US, Canada, Africa, Europe, and South America.

He has recently been providing the pulse and gritty drumming for Valerie June, with appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Austin City Limits 40th Anniversary, and VH1's Morning Buzz. He can also be seen performing with Lee Fields and the Expressions, Charles Bradley and the Extraordinaires, The Mandingo Ambassadors, Breakdown Brass, No $mall Money Brass and Low Mentality to name a few...
