Ken Sherman

Ken Sherman has been an active studio, big band and jazz musician for over 50 years. Studied under Sammy Musiker of the original Tonight Show and the Gene Krupa Orchestra. He is an accomplished flutist and saxaphone player, actively performing in Southern California. Has been seen recently (2005) performing with the Hal Willis Band at the Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach, where he first performed in 1956. This excellent 9-piece band is now (2011) at Steamers Jazz Cafe in Fullerton, 1st Mondays of every month. Member of locals 7 and 47. Charter member of the National Flute Association, and recently (2007) performed with Ali Ryerson and Holly Hoffman. Can stand up and play thousands of "standards" chart-free in any key, in small groups or backing vocalists. Equally comfortable on flutes, saxes or clarinets. Can read big-band and orchestral charts. A very well-rounded player, frequently called, because of his versatility and musicianship.
