Joey Berkleys Bandits

Joey Berkley's career as a tenor saxophonist and recording artist has evolved through a variety of stages: first as an in-demand sideman; to the founder/leader of various bands including Joey Berkley Quartet (JB4); Funkasaurus Rex; Four Good Reeds; WJO (Westchester Jazz Orch.), to present day, with the creation of Joey Berkley’s Bandits.  His career spans over 30 years. Brought up as a jazz musician firmly rooted in the jazz tradition of Coltrane, Miles, Monk etc, Joey developed his "sound" by incorporating these influences to create an original contemporary style.

Joey is also a music instructor. He is the Woodwind/Jazz specialist at Fox Lane MS/HS and Woodlands MS/HS. He’s just been appointed Director at the newly formed Westchester Center for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Yonkers (YoHo area).
