Jim Meehan

Having bieng involved in the Irish traditional music scene for most of his playing career Jim found a new expression as a jazz guitarist while participating in the West Clare Jazz School. Under the direction of Louis Stewart, one of the acknowledged masters of jazz guitar, the School introduced many seasoned traditional musicians to the Jazz idiom. Since that time Jim has participated in workshops with Howard Alden, Jimmy Bruno, Gene Bertoncini Chris Flory and others. Jim is active on he Irish Jazz scene as an organiser and musician. He has weekly residiencies in venues within the north-west and has had notible Jazz festival appearaces with his group JazzTam within Ireland.

Jim will shortly record some original Jazz material in the company of some of his Jazz friends.
