Jim Meehan

About Me

Jim Meehan is an experienced musician with lengthy experience in Irish traditional music.Jim's conversion to jazz guitar came under the direction of Louis Stewart at the West Clare Jazz School. Since that time Jim has taken workshops with Howard Alden,Jimmy Bruno,Gene Bertoncini, Chris Flory and others. Jim plays, with his group JazzTam, at various Jazz Festivals within Ireland and has a residency at The Strand Bar each week. Jim is currently currently working on his own compositions for his first recording scheduled for next spring.

Jim is actively involved with the promotion of the arts as a board member of the Blue Raincoat Theater Company and founding member of the Sligo Jazz Project.
