Irwin's musical passions also extend into the classroom. He is an avid educator and maintains a regular following of private students around the world. he has taught in seminars and classes on music theory, improvisation, and performance around the globe, including the US, Japan, Switzerland, China, and more. His international appearances include Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, Happy-Go- Lucky Big Band in Hong Kong, and the Scuola di Musica Modema in Lugano, Switzerland, to name a few. He regularly gives classes at independent music and charter schools throughout the New York area and maintains a global online private lesson practice.
