Irio Jr.

Owner of a particular style that congregates the technique of an erudite inheritance to the freedom of Brazilian and Jazz Music, Írio has impacted the audiences wherever he performs.

Pianist, composer and arranger, Irio Jr. was born in Lavras (southeast of Brazil) and began his career in the Ball Orchestra of the city, together with his father, also a musician and a conductor.

In his mid twenties he studied classical music and performed in piano competitions all around Brazil. Irio was accepted at the College of Music of MG, but he didn’t stay there for long. After that, he started to study Jazz and to teach the piano. In parallel he began to write his first compositions. Irio was also selected to play at Prêmio Visa Instrumental 2004 (Visa Instrumental Music Award). Then, he joined Vinicius Dorin Quartet. Together, they record the album "Revoada", released in 2005.

Nowadays, he also joins Nenê Trio. They have already played in Bahia (Northeast of Brazil) and in some important auditoriums in São Paulo.

As a solo pianist and executing his own compositions, he was selected to perform at “Mostra Brasil Instrumental” of Tatui- Conservatory (fevereiro/2008). Irio Jr. is a young very talented musician.
