Glenn Makos
As both a leader and sideman, trumpeter Glenn Makos has appeared at many of New York’s premier jazz venues, including Birdland, The Blue Note, Zinc Bar, Shrine, Silvana, and The Knitting Factory. His new ensemble, BRū, explores an eclectic mix of samba, funk, hip-hop, and jazz grooves. He is joined by alto saxophonist Craig Yaremko, Victor Lin on Fender Rhodes, electric bassist Sebastian de Urquiza, and Daniel Silva on drums. Their upcoming album, Arrowsic (Stop Time Records), is set to be released December 2025. Previous releases include The Michel Legrand Project, Houston Street, Now and Again, and Lapses In Synapsis, all on Stop Time Records.
Glenn has performed with Cleo Laine/John Dankworth in Bermuda, singer Titilayo Rachel Adedokun in Munich, and Santy y su Son de Cuba in Prague. Glenn has worked with Dave Valentin, Randy Brecker, saxophonist Danny Weiss, pianists Joel Weiskopf, D.D. Jackson, Brian Jackson, Ehud Asherie, guitarists Rez Abassi and Pete McCann, bassists Boris Kozlov and Sean Smith, drummers Willard Dyson, Steve Davis, Gene Lewin, and Gasper Bertoncelj. Appearances also include the Jamie Begian Big Band, Diane Moser Big Band, vocalists Liza Minelli, Neil Diamond, Jay Black and the Americans, Al Martino, and Jack Jones. Jazz festival performances include Montreux and Brienz, Switzerland, Terni and Porto San Giorgio, Italy, and twice at The Festival of New Trumpet Music in New York.
