Finely Tuned Elephant
Finely Tuned Elephant is an instrumental jazz-rock fusion quartet from Ottawa, Ontario: Jordan Robinson (guitar), Cyrus Robertson Orkish (bass), Alex Lugli (keyboards) and Kyle Iveglia (drums). Guitarist Jordan Robinson formed the band in 2019 as a trio with Kyle Iveglia and bassist Félix Labrosse, who played on the debut, Perfect Coincidence (2020). The Fast Life (2022) followed, with Robinson on guitar and bass. Cyrus Robertson Orkish joined in 2022 and Alex Lugli in 2025.
No Goats (March 27, 2026), the first album recorded by the full quartet playing together, is a concept album about four goats in disguise trying to sneak into an elephants-only club. The band calls it "the soundtrack to the greatest video game you've never played." Reviewing it for All About Jazz, Dan McClenaghan wrote that it "sounds like a band that Steely Dan might have hired to craft their sound." The album received 5/5 from Sea of Tranquility and 9/10 from Take Effect, and has been played on radio in six countries. The band's influences include Casiopea and Weather Report, and its full-album Casiopea tributes in Ottawa and Montreal have sold out.

They are snappy and upbeat. A blind listen might draw the guess of Chick Corea's early Elektric Band, or maybe Herbie Hancock's '70s fusion work.Everything about the release says Good ...
