Elizabeth Dawson

Elizabeth Dawson has been singing since childhood, but it was only in college that she was introduced to jazz music, in Brian Kirk's jazz ensemble at Seattle Central. Elizabeth is self-taught, having learned to sing jazz by watching and listening to all the great jazz singers: Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Dinah Washington, Carmen McRae, Lena Horne, and Ella Fitzgerald.

Elizabeth has performed with Seattle Central's jazz ensemble at Tula's Jazz Club, Benaroya Hall, and the Seattle Central Unity Fair, with Blue Moon Daughter at the Ballard Jam House and the Taste of Tacoma, and at Grazie's, The Showbox and various private events with Black Lab Trio. She is always eager to meet fans of jazz, other musicians, and possible collaborators.

Her favorite musicians include Rufus Wainwright, Fiona Apple, Rilo Kiley,Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, The Avett Brothers, Hall and Oates, and Neko Case.
