Dropbear Lodge
Artfully hiding in the shadows of Australian folklore under shrouds of the gum trees, The Dropbear (Thylarctos Plummetus) are typically solitary hunters who move in secrecy with the oblivious, the ignorant, and, of course, the psychoactive Eucalyptus being their primary sources of food. In the face of mass deforestation, political ineptitude, and preventable disasters, the leaves that pacify the species' bloodthirsty tendencies are in short supply.
We inevitably find out why the Dropbear is the only species on the planet, aside from the Crow, to be referred to as a Murder when hunting in a group.
In the event of the sudden unification (and subsequent uprising) of the species’, Dropbear Lodge was founded in 2022 by Martin Kay, James Wengrow, Zac Sakrewski, and Benjamin Shannon on the banks of the Meanjin River to pacify the threat with their avant-jazz and math-rock power blend.
Boosted by returning from extended travels to Banff, New York, and Sydney, the Dropbear’s members’ other projects include Milton Man Gogh, Shamin, Big Dead, Lamborghini Eagleman, Crypsis Trio, Brooklyn Qawwali Party, Ensemble Sooon, and Song Fwaa. Dropbear Lodge’s debut album, Vicious Twee, features elaborate compositions from each member, protecting the species from the threat looming in the shadows and redefining the trajectory of Australian Jazz.
