Dave Wetherell

Dave Wetherell is a talented trumpeter and flugelhorn soloist from Germantown, NY. He began playing at age 10 under the guidance of trumpeter and band director Henry Cianfoni. By 16, he made his recording debut as a featured jazz flugelhorn soloist at Bard College in Red Hook, NY. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Dave earned a degree in Music Production & Engineering while studying jazz trumpet with instructors Jeff Stout, Mike Metheny, Ken Cervenka, and Greg Hopkins. He played 2nd trumpet in the Roy Nutile big band, and briefly served as a recording engineer and horn arranger for Turning Point Records. A new member of the jazz sextet Subject2Change, his musical influences include Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Mangione, Doc Severinsen, and Clark Terry. An avid vintage cornet collector and Olds enthusiast, Dave enjoys playing different horns in his performances.
