Curt Farrell

Curt Farrell is a drummer/ percussionist from Illinois who now lives in Cape Coral , Fl. For over 35 years Curt has been developing his drumming and musician skills, playing everything from Lounge work playing standards to country rock. In his earlier years was influenced greatly by John Bonahm of Led Zepplin, Danny Seraphine of CTA, Chicago, Steve Smith of Journey fame at the time. Grew up playing to the music of Stenffenwolf, CSNY, Guess who, Deep Purple, and Grand Funk Railroad.

Curt started playing drums at the age of 9 when he was captivated by the first drummer he saw playing drum set. Playing all thru school and then with his first band back home he was hooked. After school he started searching out local teachers in the Joliet and Chicago area which led him to an audition at The American Conservatory Of Music in Chicago, where he studied with Jack Mouse Drum, set James Dutton marimba, Peter Rogala, Snare drum and Brad Stirtz who later became the head of the percussion dept. at the conservatory.

Curt’s schooling with these teachers pointed him in the direction of knowledge about music. Learning styles from Jazz, Latin, Blues, Jobbing rhythms that allowed him to work many different job situations.
