Charlie Glenn

In between tours you might find Charlie in his Los Angeles area recording studio, arranging and producing music for clients like Disney Records. Charlie produced the Disney album "For Our Children" which has sold more than a million copies and includes artists Paul McCartney, Elton John and Paula Abdul. By the age of 18, Charlie had moved to Los Angeles and was well-versed in the LA Music Scene. Charlie wasted no time in bringing together several of his Nashville music friends. His band would climb the mountain to stardom in LA. The group would be called "Ozone". The talent in Charlie' new band was undeniable and that fact was immediately recognized by music icon Billy Preston who snatched them up to be his personal band. After touring over two years with Preston, Ozone was signed to a recording contract by Motown Records where they created and released five Ozone albums. Charlie' band became the "house band" for several acts on the Motown roster. Charlie and Ozone recorded and toured with Lionel Ritchie, Teena Marie, Debarge, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Luther Vandross among others. Charlie moved to Europe and immediately went back to work touring and recording exclusively as the bassist for Billy Preston. Billy dubbed Charlie "King C" and Charlie had earned a reputation as a world-class bass player. His flamboyant, slap and pull, funky style caught the attention of legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Little Richard and he offered Charlie a full-time position in his band. 25 years later, King C plays every show, recording date and television appearance with Little Richard. Today, Charlie Glenn and his Bad Azz Band has recorded the soon to be released The Best of The Best cd which will soon be available through SpectraJazz (a division of The Spectra Group of Companies)
