Camilo Carrara
Camilo Carrara is a musical director and producer, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, teacher, and sound branding consultant. He operates within the music scene, seamlessly navigating between the worlds of classical and popular music.
He holds a Bachelor's degree from the Department of Music at ECA-USP and specializes in Strategic Marketing Management with an MBA from FEA-USP/RP.
Currently, he serves as a professor at the Graduate School of Faculdade Santa Marcelina and as an Artistic-Pedagogical Consultant at "Sustenidos" - a Social Cultural Organization in São Paulo. Additionally, he is a guitar teacher at the National Music Festival in Chestertown, Maryland, USA.
Since 2011, Camilo has been responsible for the musical production and orchestral arrangements for the "Natal do Palácio Avenida" spectacle, an event that gathers thousands of people in the city center of Curitiba, Brazil, sponsored by Banco Bradesco. He was also in charge of the musical production for the "Cantata de Natal" event sponsored by Banco SICOOB in Londrina, Paraná, as well as the musical director for the Inauguration of the Christmas Tree at Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo, sponsored by Coca Cola, in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
Camilo Carrara has been invited to perform as a guest musician and soloist with prestigious orchestras such as the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP), São Paulo Municipal Orchestra (OSM), São Paulo State Symphonic Band, Santo André Symphony Orchestra, Paraná Symphony Orchestra, Balé Guaíra, and Het Spectra Ensemble - a Belgian contemporary music group.
His engagements with OSESP include the 1st European Tour in 2003, under the baton of John Neschling, and the 3rd Brazilian Tour, conducted by French conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier. With the orchestra, he recorded two CDs for the Scandinavian label BIS: "Canção do Amor" by Heitor Villa-Lobos and "Festas Romanas" by Ottorino Respighi.
Camilo was a member of Zizi Possi's quartet and participated in the tours of "Per Amore," "Passione," and "Italianíssimo." He recorded the CDs "Passione" and "Bossa," as well as the DVDs "Per Amore" and "Cantos e Contos."
He is frequently sought after for recordings, concerts, and shows both in Brazil and abroad, collaborating with artists like Akira Inoue (Japan), Alaíde Costa, Ana de Hollanda, Antonio Nóbrega, Carlos Careqa, Carmina Juarez, Cida Moreira, Daniela Mercury, Eliete Negreiros, Eugénia Melo e Castro (Portugal), Padre Fábio de Melo, Fortuna, Johnny Alf, José Miguel Wisnik, Kifu Mitsuhashi (Japan), Lokua Kanza (Congo/France), Luiz Millan, Marcelo Quintanilha, Marília Vargas, Masako Kawamura (Japan), Mônica Salmaso, Ná Ozzetti, Olívia Byington, Paulo Bellinati, Rodolfo Medeiros (Argentina), Sapopemba, Suzana Salles, Toquinho, Tiago Pinheiro, Vania Abreu, and Virgínia Rosa.
