Bill Bodine

Bill Bodine, producer/composer/arranger/bassist, has been a fixture in the Los Angeles music community for 25 years touring and recording with such notables as Van Morrison, Leo Sayer, The Funky Kings, Olivia Newton-John, Melissa Manchester, Joan Armatrading, Cher, Hampton Hawes, Sergio Mendez and Peter Criss of KISS. His television gigs include 8 years in the Star Search House Band and 2 seasons on the New Gong Show.

As a Grammy winning composer he’s enjoyed writing for Glen Fry of the Eagles, Manhattan Transfer, Laura Branigan and television series and specials for ABC’s “Second Noah”, FOX’s “Judge Judy”.

bill bodine music has composed scores for over 300 television commercials for Honda cars, McDonald’s, Nike, Toyota, Harley Davidson, Gillette, HBO, Fox Network, and NBC to name but a few.

Bill has been credited as a “Founding Father” of the Youngstown State University Jazz program along with Tony Leonardi and Phil Wilson while attending YSU in the years 1968-1971.

He continues his involvement with the University by organizing and participating in seminars designed to bring active music professionals to YSU to inform and inspire the current students.

In 1994 Bill founded the TONY LEONARDI MEMORIAL JAZZ SCHOLARSHIP FUND along with Phil Wilson and Ron DiTullio as a 20th anniversary gift to the program.

He currently serves on the College of Fine and Performing Arts Board of Visitors. Bill is married to singer/writer Beth Andersen and has a 17.9 year old composer/singer/pianist son Billy.

When not busy writing Bill attempts to kill himself driving race prepared Porsche cars with the POC of Southern California.
