Anton Ponomarev

Anton Ponomarev - musician from Moscow (Russia), plays alto and baritone saxophones. Works on the field of free improvised music, experimental and punk jazz! Apart from different collaborations with musicians all over the world (Paal Nilssen-Love, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten, Burton Greene, Peter Ole Jorgensen, Kazutoki Umezu, Sainkho Namtchylak and many others) his core bands with his participation are BROM, Solvychegodsk, Speedball trio, sanscreed kanon, etc. Also works as saxophone solo performer using different objects and electronics like guitar pedals, modulators and oscilators. These solo sets usually tend to be a combination of composed paterns and imrovised music, mixture of silence, sounds occasionally having some oriental tint and harsh, violent noise!
