Andrew Elwood
Andrew Elwood is a young jazz drummer in the Denver Metro Area. He is recent graduate from Denver School of the Arts where he studied under Greg Harris, Alejandro Castaño, and Dave Hammond. In the fall he will be attending Roosevelt University in Chicago. He has been a participant of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz and is a 2024 YoungArts winner.
Andrew has played with many groups including the CCJA Jazz Messengers, Telluride All Stars, All State Jazz Band, and the Denver School of the Arts Jazz Workshop Orchestra. He has played at many venues/festivals in Colorado including Dazzle, Muse Performance Space, Telluride Jazz Festival, and the Vail Jazz Festival. Andrew has also played in professional groups both as a leader and a sideman.
Some of the musicians he has gotten to work with include Eric Gunnison, Paul Romaine, Mark Patterson, Greg Gisbert, Daryl Gott, Seth Lewis, Josh Quinlan, and Terrell Stafford.
