Amir The Movement Simply

Amir Arrington is Bass Guitarist of The Movement Simply and Founder Owner of Studio 155th Community Outreach and Studios in South Chicago.

Born and Raised in Toledo Ohio, young Amir found music to be a positive influence that kept him from negative lifestyles. In the late '80s and early '90s... Amir had a goal to better himself through music! He now focuses on teaching others that every child and adult is born with at least one special gift that should be nurtured! Amir started as a DJ then tried drums but eventually found his special gift was Bass Guitar and Audio Engineering.

He is a Visionary of Music and his landscapes of progressive sounds include influences from many genres of music. The most prominent styles are Gospel & Modern Jazz Fusion with rhythmic ideas influenced by Brazilian & African world music and even electronic dance sounds and grooves.

Amir song-writes and produces instrumental Jazz Fusion pieces using unique and unusual chord progressions made of full chords and chromatic movements written around the bass guitar. Amir is also developing musical works in tandem with Racheal Cain of Sony Orchard Trax Records of Chicago, IL

Amir's musical beginnings were nurtured while playing bass for Gerald Foster and he eventually refined his bass skills playing gospel music when he relocated to South Chicago in 2007. In 2007 he started playing bass guitar for Pastor Douglas Moye at Holy Temple Cathedral where he is still the house bass player to this day!
