Amber Sept

AMBERT SEPT is a conceptual project of the Russian jazz scene, a dynamic and bright collective led by the drummer Ignat Kravtsov. The band's main focus is a perpetual search - of the stories, ideas, sound, new colours for the emotional self-expression. Thus its name is not exactly about the month and time (A.S. first gig was performed in September), but rather about the harvesting, the moment to summarize one's musical discoveries and investigations and one's experience of life. It's about September as the real gold of summer, amber color leaves that fall from trees, warming the earth from the coming winter. The moment of the not yet gone heat of summer, but at the same time not come the cold of winter!

Ignat Kravtsov, who leads the band, is a drummer, composer and visual artist. He plays diverse music on professional level and tours worldwide with such ensembles as LRK Trio, Therr Maitz, Authentic Light Orchestra, World Orchestra etc; he was involved in the work with Steve Turre, Stanley Jordan, Linley Marthe, Jimmy Huslip, Ralph Bowen, Jaleel Shaw, George Cables. As a visual artist, Ignat has made a few personal exhibitions in Moscow, his art is being kept in personal galleries and collections.

In 2017, Amper Sept released its debut album called "Luminescence", a program in modern jazz style with elements of rock and fusion. This work which provoked strong interest among listeners and gathered good acceptance from critics was recorded in three different studios in Moscow and mixed in New York by renown Dave Darlington.
