Alessandra Bossa
Guided by intuition, curiosity, and exploration, Alessandra Bossa blends classical and contemporary traditions with the exciting world of electronic music and performance art. Through improvisation, inventive use of devices, and real-time signal processing, she navigates between avant-garde, jazz, and live remixing.
She has gathered recognitions with her performances at festival such as Toronto Jazz Festival, Casa da Musica di Porto, Punkt Festival, Barbican Jazz Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Cully Jazz, Jazz Fest, Lanzarote Jazz, Gas Festival of Gothenburg, Copenhagen, and more.
In 2019, she won the Nuova Generazione Jazz award in Italy with her electroacoustic duo O-Janà, with whom she released the album Animal Mother in 2023.
She teaches electronic music and improvisation at Institutt for Rytmisk Musikk at the University of Agder. Since 2023, she has led the Live Electronics course, while also actively working and contributing to the artistic production of CreaTeMe-Lab. The lab provides a platform for events, concerts, and talks with musicians from across Europe. These gatherings showcase new technological applications and foster interactions among students, audiences, and artists.
